This is a stunning hand made turquoise bear fetish pendant necklace with turquoise beads and sterling silver beads and sterling silver toggle clasp. This impressive gemstone necklace was hand crafted by a local area Native American artist. The polished turquoise bear fetish has lovely brown color throughout. The bear and the stones have natural typical inconsistencies in surface texture, with minor pits, lines, openings, streaks, etc.
If this handcrafted jewelry piece is artist signed, I can not identify this (small marks on silver might be artist mark, or just tool marks?). I was told that the metal beads are sterling silver, but I do not see any sterling silver marks to verify this. The lovely darker blue beads with turquoise-color and gold-color flecks might be lapis, but I don’t know for sure what type of stone they are?
The large turquoise necklace measures about 24 inches in length, including the bear fetish. The bear measures about 2 ½ inches by about 1 5/8 inches. There are photos with a ruler that will give you an idea of the size of the various beads.
This piece was gently used and was worn by the artist.
I have had this put away for some time and the silver clasp and silver beads have darkened a little, and I did not polish or clean this necklace at all. The buyer may choose to do this.
