Vintage sword hanger chain with ornate floral decoration. This interesting old sword hanger chain has center links with a raised flower decoration. I am guessing that this metal sword hanger chain is silverplate over brass, but I am not sure what kind of metal it is? This may be a Masonic or fraternal sword hanger, but I do not have any history or age on this piece.
On the hook at the end of the chain there is some very tiny writing, and I think it maybe says “ISET”, but it is so small I am having trouble reading it for sure? I included a close-up photo of this for you.
The sword hanger chain measures about 20 ½ inches in length including the hook clips on each end. It measures about 7/8” in width across the widest part of the link. The links are about ¼” in height or thickness.
This sword hanger chain is in nice vintage used condition, with no breaks or repairs. There is plate wear, some rust and discoloration, and some tarnish on this sword hanger chain. I did not polish it, and will leave any cleaning to the buyer.
