Antique Chatelaine perfume scent bottle Victorian ornate brass metal frame and mother of pearl center. Iridescent mother-of-pearl shell is curved on both sides. Frame has metal loops for a chatelaine chain. Perfume bottle top is open and I do Not have the stopper cork top or any chain. My guess is that the chatelaine scent bottle dates to around the 1890’s or 1900’s? It measures about 1 ¾ inches in length by about 1 inch across. In lovely condition, the mother of pearl shell has minor surface scratches and almost invisible tiny pits from age and use or perhaps from the natural makeup of the shell? The brass metal framework setting has some bends (photos), and a little age darkening and discoloration that collectors love to see on the patina of a vintage piece. I only gently wiped the outside clean, and there is still some dust and dirt inside and out that I will leave for the buyer to choose to clean further.
