Pair Landers Frary and Clark, Aetna Works, antique fruit knives (or are they butter spreaders or dinner knives?) with sterling silver bands iridescent mother of pearl handles. The silver bands each say “sterling” and have lovely raised designs on both sides, and a monogram letter on one side (maybe R). Each knife is about 7 inches in length and are marked “Landers Frary & Clark, Aetna Works” on blades. One of the knives needs a little repair – the silver band is slightly separated from the knife blade and needs to be tapped back into place (maybe needs professional repair) which will be left for the buyer to do. There are a few scratches and tiny dings on the silver bands and tiny nicks on the knife blades that you would expect in vintage pieces that were lovingly used. The mother-of-pearl handles on both have some age browning and yellowing, with more discoloration on the handle of the knife that needs the silver band repaired than on the other one. I do not know the age of these knives, but this company began manufacturing around the 1880s.
