Artisan designed and handcrafted heart shaped brooch pin with wonderful unique elements in lovely fall copper colors, topaz colors, and reddish brown colors. This jewelry piece was handmade by a Missouri artist, who told me that “My goal was to create a balanced, asymmetrical design that wasn’t too heavy, but pleasant to look at”.
This is a large and impressive heart brooch pin, and it measures about 3 inches by about 2 ½ inches. It comes with a gold color cardboard gift box.
The heart was cut from wood which was painted in what I would call a reddish brown “wood-grain” look. The heart is framed around the edge with copper chain. The brooch includes a selection of aurora borealis rhinestones, topaz colored rhinestones and topaz colored plastic pieces. There is a large copper flower, and a tiny metal bird with a small golden colored stone. The artist told me that the larger round balls are gold-plated, and the orange round pieces are plastic. There is a bow with crystal clear rhinestones. The tiny little square pieces were cut from wood and painted. The artist also said that the polished oval stone to the left of the center is probably amber (?), and that there are some silver plated findings in this piece. There are many more unusual elements in this piece, and each time you look at it you will see something different to surprise and delight you!
Although the heart brooch was newly designed and created, the elements and embellishments used in the design of this heart brooch were mostly from “found” objects and vintage jewelry pieces. The use of these recycled objects contributes to the "green" world environmental effort. On the back of the heart you can see an area where the texture of the paint is a little streaked, which does not detract (see photo).
This large size brooch is one of the hottest new fashion trends, and is so very versatile to wear. This one could even be worn on your coat or jacket, or perhaps on your hat, or to adorn your handbag.
