This is a lovely pair of vintage 1988 Avon “Draped Fan” silverplate pierced earrings with tarnish resist finish. The earrings come with a card that discusses “The Allure of Silver”, and says that the earrings are “protected by Avon Anti-Tarnish Shield”.
The earrings measure about 1 ¼ inches, by about 1 inch at the widest point. This earring set has surgical steel posts, and the earrings come with their box. I do not see any Avon manufacturer’s marks on these earrings.
The box is dated 1988, and says “Avon Products, Inc., Distr., New York, N.Y. 10019”. The box has cleaning instructions for this Avon jewelry piece on the back. The box is in good shape, with a little wear and tear here and there, and maybe a little dust or a tiny bit of dirt and a minor bend or crease from being packed away. There is a small spot of white paper wear on the front where it looks like a sticker or label was removed.
This Avon Draped Fan silverplate metal pierced earring set is in excellent vintage condition. This jewelry came from an estate of an Avon distributor, and it was packed away for many years. It is my guess that it was not worn (?), but I cannot say this for sure, and I will describe it as “used, or gently worn”.
