Towle Silversmiths 1980 Silver Sleigh Bell Christmas Ornament, silverplate ball bell. There is a lovely raised festive design that features Christmas poinsettias going around the top half of the bell, and “Christmas 1980” is incised or engraved at the top. The bell is marked at the bottom “Towle, 3175, E. P. C. A.”.
This highly collectible bell ornament measures about 8 inches in circumference all the way around the middle. There is a metal ring going through a post on top for hanging the bell decoration. The metal ring has a separation in it, and I assume this is the way it was made (?), but I included a close-up photograph of this for you to review. The bell measures about 3 inches tall.
The bell is in excellent vintage condition, with minor use scratches that you would expect in an item that was lovingly used over the years. The buyer may choose to polish the bell a little more.
The original box is included with this Towle 1980 bell. The box is in very nice condition, with a tiny bit of edge and corner wear, and minor stains. There is no paperwork with this bell. Inside the bottom of the box there are some minor yellow soil spots (see photo).
