Vintage pair of two Kansas Elks fraternal organization metal buttons with bright yellow felt sunflowers. The printing on the front of the button is purple in color. The pins say “Kansas Elks”, and picture an elk inside a clock with a star at the top. These 2 pins were made by the St. Louis Button Company. I do not see any date on these pinback buttons, and I am not sure of the age of these buttons? I would guess that they are from the 1970’s or 1980’s?
One button has the paper label that says “St. Louis Button Co.” on the back of the yellow felt sunflower. The other button has the “St. Louis Button Co.” paper label between the yellow felt sunflower and the back of the button (see photos). They are marked on the edge of the buttons ‘St. Louis Button Co., Inc.” The buttons measure about 1 ¼” across the round metal button. They measure about 2 ¾” across the entire button including the yellow felt sunflowers. The backs of the round buttons are metal, and I am not sure if the front is a plastic covering, or printed on metal? They are in excellent condition. The printing on one pin is a little lighter than the printing on the other pin.
