Antique Victorian 1889 Trade Card Arbuckle Ariosa Coffee advertising. This advertising card features a geographical map of Siberia, which borders on the Chinese Empire, Afganistan, and Persia. It has a colored lithograph showing "Convicts at work in the Mines", and shows uniformed guards with guns and bayonetts. The animal in the red circle is labeled as a "Polar Bear". The front is marked "Copyright 1889, Arbuckle Bros., N.Y.". This advertising trade card was from a series of 50 cards "each card of which shows a correct colored map, properly bounded, of one of the chief countries of the world". You will receive one card, and the back has an advertisement for Ariosa Arbuckle Bros. Coffee, and discusses that "it will pay you well to keep a small coffee mill in your kitchen, and grind your coffee". There is a section that explains the card series, and lists names of countries represented in this card series. This antique Victorian trade card measures about 5 inches by 3 inches. It is in very nice condition, but has some minor edge and corner wear and tear, minor creases or bends, and some stains and soil.
