This is a vintage sterling silver and 10K gold ring with a man on the front that I am guessing (?) is Christopher Columbus, wearing what I would call a conquistador helmet. Most of the ring is sterling silver, and it looks like there are gold enhancements on the man (see photos). The ring is marked “STER-10K” on the inside. It is a nice bold heavy ring, and measures about size 8 ½ (8.5) on my jewelry sizing mandrel (see photo). The front measures about ¾ inch up and down, and about ¾ inch from side to side at the widest point across the front.
This interesting vintage ring came from an estate, and I do not know the age of the ring. There are some hand etched initials inside to ring (hard to read letters). The interior of the ring band makes me thank that it was hand crafted (?), or maybe layers of silver were added at some point, perhaps to size the ring?
The ring is in excellent condition, with some scratches and some minor wear that you would expect in a vintage piece that has been lovingly used and worn.
