This is a vintage group of five Wizard of Oz movie printed photo postcards by Ludlow Sales, New York, N. Y., in sepia brown colors. Included in the 5 cards are a scene with Dorothy and the Wizard in the balloon with the Tin Man and Lion and Scarecrow looking on, the Wicked Witch of the West and Judy Garland, Dorothy with the Tin Man and his oil can and the Scarecrow, a scene when Dorothy has returned home with Auntie Em and the other characters, and a scene with the Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion, Dorothy, and Tin Man in the haunted forest.

Each card measures about 6 1/8 inches by 4 3/8 inches. Each card says “Wizard of Oz” on the back, and “fotocard”, and “Ludlow Sales, Box 554, Chelsea Station, New York, N.Y. 10011.” The balloon scene card is number FC-319-50, the Wicked Witch card is number FC-338-50, the Tin Man with oil can card is number FC-122-50, the scene at home with Auntie Em is number FC-104-50, and the postcard with Dorothy, Scarecrow, Lion, and Tin Man in the forest is number FC-141-50.

The 5 Wizard of Oz movie printed photograph cards are in excellent vintage condition, with a very tiny bit of edge and corner wear here and there, and a little bit of age yellowing and a little barely visible dirt on the backs. On the card with Dorothy and the Tin Man with oil can and the Scarecrow, there are some tiny pin point size black spots on the Tin Man, and I think they might be in the print (?), but could be a little dirt or something on the card?

I would estimate that these Wizard of Oz cards date back to around the 1970’s or 1980’s, but I do not see a date on them so cannot say for sure?

These would make a great addition to your Wizard of Oz movie collection, or a wonderful gift for a special collector.
