Vintage Airplane Propeller Decal “Standard Steel Propeller Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania”, one sheet of 6 peel-off self-adhesive decals. The black inner circle is the edge of the oval decal, which peels away from the white sheet. The black "Standard Steel Propeller Co." lettering is on a gold color background, and the center is red, with a clear propeller blade that takes on the color of the surface to which it is applied.
These 6 decals would be great for uncovered remote control aircraft model surfaces such as balsa wood, and for covered model airplane surfaces such as heat-shrink film covered aircraft.
The oval decals each measure about 3/4” in width, and are about 3/8” in height. Hobbyists can apply them to airplane propeller blades, or other areas of the model to add an unusual vintage visual effect to the craft.
These airplane propeller decals are “new-old stock”. I am not sure, but it is my guess (?) that they were made as commemorative advertising representative of the “Spirit of St. Louis” Hamilton Standard Steel airplane propeller, because Charles Lindbergh’s “Spirit of St. Louis” used an airplane propeller from the Standard Steel Propeller Company when Lindbergh made his famous historical flight.
These decals originally came with some vintage stainless steel airplane propeller letter openers, but I do Not have any letter openers left, and you will receive only the set of 6 “Standard Steel Propeller Co.” decals as discussed above. I have included a photo of the decal applied to one of the stainless steel airplane propeller blades to give you an example of how the colors and graphics look when applied.
These decals have been packed away, and they are in excellent vintage condition. I do not know the age of the decals. They would make a great gift idea for that special aircraft aviation collector, and/or RC Remote Control model airplane or other type model builder.
If you need more than 6 decals, I am starting with a quantity of these decals which are being sold in sets of 6, so order as many sets as you need.
