Roycrofters Elbert Hubbard's Scrap Book 1923, Wm. H. Wise and Co. The book includes inspired works of best authors, poetry, subjects gathered during a lifetime of discriminating reading by Elbert Hubbard. 228 numbered pages plus 12 detailed index pages. Also included are promotional pamphlet for Elbert Hubbard's Little Journeys (12 pages), 1929 letter (4 pages), and subscription order form (1 page). Book has some condition issues and is offered as is with wear and tear here and there, minor stains to cardboard-like paperback softcover and corner and edge wear. Front cover torn part way up and down along brown edge binding strip and is very fragile and in danger of tearing completely off so buyer may want to have it repaired. Inside pages in good condition with some edge and corner paper loss and bends. I noticed a couple of small pencil marks inside (small check mark on a page and x on a page). Book measures about 10 5/8 inches by about 8 1/4 inches.
Roycroft was a group of arts and craft artists founded by Elbert Hubbard in 1895 in East Aurora, New York, often called the Roycrofters movement. They did book printing, and are known for their highly collectible furniture and metal pieces. Elbert Hubbard and his wife died onboard the Lusitania ship. This book would be a wonderful addition to your Roycrofters historical collection, or a great gift for that special collector.
